Keto Snacks That I'm Loving!

Do you remember we started the year with all the attitude, planning our outfits to exercise (as much as possible), taking care of our skin for a brighter 2021 and discovering the colors of the year to improve our outfits and our social media? Well February just started and I'm still working on myself to get a healthier life.

A few weeks ago I started "Keto", which is a low carb, high fat diet that sends your body into a state of ketosis, where the body uses fat stores for energy. On the ketogenic diet, you are restricted from all grains, sugar, and high-starch and high-sugar vegetables and fruits such as potatoes, squash, dates, and bananas.

Today I want to share with you some healthy snacks that are part of my new diet, I just want to say that everyone's bodies and needs are different, this is just some inspiration in case you are into Keto too or you want to try it.

1. Berries 

Most fruits are too high in carbs to include on a ketogenic diet, but berries are an exception. Berries are low in carbs and high in fiber. In fact, raspberries and blackberries contain as much fiber as digestible carbs.

2. Avocados

Thanks to their high content of heart-healthy fats, avocados make a great addition to a ketogenic diet. The fat content in avocados makes them a delicious and satisfying keto snack.

 

3. Dark Chocolate

A small piece of dark chocolate is an excellent keto-friendly snack that is both delicious and nutritious.

4. Greek Yogurt

While yogurt does contain carbs, Greek yogurt has less than the other varieties. Go for the full-fat versions and pay attention to the sugar content.

5. Cheese and Deli Meat

Okay, I'll be really honest, as a cheese lover, this is my absolute FAVORITE from the list, imagine a charcuterie board with this elements + avocado + olives (also Keto), is the perfect combo!!!. Just be careful with portions. 

The best way to stay full and keep your energy high on a ketogenic diet is to make sure you’re getting enough of the right fats. When you cut carbs, you have to replace them with something, which is why fat is your friend.

Step-by-step Guide To Have Stunning Skin

One of my New Year's resolutions was to take extra care of my skin, and I wanted to start a skincare routine but I had so many questions, like what products should I buy? In what order I'm supposed to use them? What is a serum? and many more.  

In order to do it right, I've decided to visit a dermatologist and she gave me a simple advise: cleanse, treat and moisturize

Cleanse

Cleansing is the basic first step of any good routine. The way you do it and the products you use are very important, always choose a cleanser that fits your skin type and be gentle, is your skin, embrace it and love it.

Also, remember, every night you must clean your skin (yes, again), always take off your makeup and remove any dirt and oil out of your pores.

Treat

In order to treat your skin properly, you can use Toner and Serums. Using toner helps you to balance your pH, especially now that we have to use face masks all the time. Serums are very helpful in order to reverse all the sun and pollution damage.

Moisturize

After you've cleaned and treated your skin, is very important to moisturize to keep your skin hydrated and fresh; during daytime, she recommended me to use a light moisturizer that will soak faster. At nighttime you can use a heavier coverage to create a barrier and seal ingredients for a glowy skin the next day. 

My dermatologist told me the most important step in my daily skincare is the sunscreen, you have to use it in order to see how the rest of the products work, she explained me that the Sun is the number one reason why skin ages.

Even if you work indoors, you must use sunscreen daily, I was shocked when she told that also the computer light affects your skin,and of course, sunscreen is my new BFF.

I committed to myself to follow this steps and I really hope to see my skin healthier and prettier for a longer period of time. I hope this little blog helps you and inspire you to take care of your face and love yourself.
